In short
4lira is a camera that helps you photograph the people you love. Your photos stay on your iPhone. A photo only leaves it when you ask for a Photo Review or attach a screenshot to feedback. We have no ads, we don't track you, and we don't sell data.
Who is responsible
4lira (the app and the 4lira.dev website) is developed and offered by Yuri Alves Miguel, an individual in Brazil, who is the controller of the personal data described here under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, where it applies, the GDPR. For any privacy matter, including reaching the data protection officer, write to contato@4lira.dev.
Photos and camera
- The photos you take and import stay in the app's gallery on your iPhone (and in your iPhone backup, if you use one). We don't send your photos to any server, except for a Photo Review and a screenshot you choose to attach to feedback.
- The camera and microphone are used only to show the viewfinder, take photos and record the sound of Live Photos.
- If you turn on “Location in photos”, the place is kept only in the photo's metadata on your iPhone. It is never sent to us.
- The app only asks to add photos to your library when you save one. Photos you import are picked by you in the iOS picker.
Photo Review
When you ask for a Photo Review, the app sends our server:
- a downscaled copy of the photo (about 1024 pixels on the long side, with the Look applied), without location or other metadata;
- how the photo was taken: Look, composition guide, zoom, flash, lens, aspect ratio, mode, the app's language and who you photograph (her, him or neutral).
Our server passes this to OpenAI, which writes the tips, and returns the answer to the app. We don't keep the image or the answer: they exist only during the request. The answer is saved only on your iPhone. We ask OpenAI not to store the request, and under OpenAI's API data policy content sent through the API is not used to train models and may be retained for up to 30 days only to monitor abuse, then deleted.
The Photo Review is optional and happens only when you tap to ask for one; nothing is sent on its own. OpenAI acts as a processor of this data, only to produce the answer: the request is sent with store=false (it isn't stored for later retrieval) and content sent through the API is not used to train models. See also OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
In some cases the review runs on the iPhone itself, with Apple's model, and nothing is sent.
Feedback
When you send feedback from the app (Settings › Help › Send feedback, or by shaking the phone on the viewfinder), we send our server the kind (idea, problem or praise), the text you wrote, a screenshot of the last screen if you turn on “Attach a screenshot of the last screen”, the app version, the iPhone model, the iOS version and the app's language; when you are signed in, also the account identifier. We keep it to read it, answer you and improve the app. Deleting your account deletes the feedback tied to it; to delete any other, write to contato@4lira.dev.
Account (Sign in with Apple)
You only need an account to ask for Photo Reviews or to buy. Sign-in uses Sign in with Apple. We keep:
- the identifier Apple creates for 4lira (not your Apple ID);
- your e-mail, if you choose to share it (it may be an Apple private relay address). We don't ask for your name.
We use these only to keep your Plan and Credits on any iPhone and to answer support requests.
Purchases and Credits
Purchases are processed by Apple; we never receive payment details. We keep your account's purchase history (product, App Store transaction identifiers and dates, renewals and refunds), your Credit balance and how many Photo Reviews you used in each period, with date and time, to know what your Plan allows. We also keep temporary counters to limit abuse.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads.
- We don't track you across apps or websites and we use no analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties beyond the above (OpenAI for reviews, Apple for sign-in and purchases, and Cloudflare, which hosts the server).
Where data lives
Our server runs on Cloudflare (Workers and D1). Cloudflare processes each request's IP address to deliver it and to limit abuse; we don't store IP addresses in our database. Server logs hold only technical events (for example, how many tokens a review used), never the photo.
This website
4lira.dev uses no cookies, trackers, pixels or analytics, and loads nothing from other sites. Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes each visit's IP address only to deliver the page and protect against abuse.
Legal bases
- Performance of a contract: the account, Plan, Credits, purchases and the Photo Review you ask for.
- Legitimate interests: limits against abuse, server security and using feedback to improve the app.
- Consent: the screenshot attached to feedback and the e-mail you choose to share at sign-in. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what was already done.
- Legal obligation: when the law requires us to keep or hand over some data.
International transfers
OpenAI (which writes the Photo Review tips) is in the United States, and Cloudflare has servers in many countries. So some data may be processed outside Brazil and your country, under these providers' contractual safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses), as the LGPD (art. 33) and the GDPR allow.
Deleting your account
In the app, at Settings › Account › Delete account. Right away we delete from our server the account, the e-mail, the recorded Plan, the Credits and the monthly allowance (unused Credits are not refunded), the purchase and Photo Review history and the usage counters; Sign in with Apple stops working in the app and the Photo Reviews saved on the iPhone are removed. Your photos stay on your iPhone. Only the App Store's refund and notification records remain, and they don't say whose they are. The database's automatic recovery copies are gone within 30 days.
Deleting the account doesn't cancel your subscription, which belongs to the App Store: cancel it first in Manage subscription (or iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions). If you sign in with Apple again, a new, empty account is created. Without the app, ask for deletion at contato@4lira.dev.
How long
Account data and purchase history are kept while the account exists; to delete them, see “Deleting your account” above. You can also stop using Sign in with Apple with 4lira in iOS Settings › your name › Sign in with Apple. Photos in the app are deleted when you delete them or remove the app.
Your rights
Under Brazil's LGPD you can ask, at any time, for: confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion of what isn't needed, portability, information on who we share it with, deletion of data processed with consent and review of automated decisions, and you can withdraw consent. If you are in the European Union or the UK, the GDPR also gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. In California (CCPA/CPRA), you can know what we collect and ask for correction or deletion, and you won't be discriminated against for it; we don't sell or “share” personal information for advertising.
Ask at contato@4lira.dev; we answer within 15 days and may ask you to confirm the account is yours. You can also complain to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
4lira is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child sent us data, write to contato@4lira.dev and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above. Important changes will be announced in the app.
